Gay penguin pair being broken up

The Toronto Zoo is apparently unhappy with Buddy and Pedro, two African penguins who have seemingly bonded in defiance of the need for more baby penguins.

When Buddy and Pedro left the zoo in Ohio they were part of a bachelor flock of six captive bred African penguins.

African penguins are listed as an endangered species and the plan behind bringing the pair to the Toronto zoo is part of a captive breeding plan to save the species.

Buddy and Pedro act the part of the typical penguin during the day when engaging in penguin like behavior swimming around in a large pool and generally just having a great time. In the evening however, Buddy and Pedro spend all of their time together, exhibiting both mating rituals and nesting behaviors together. Part of the mating rituals include the iconic braying sound which gives the African penguin it’s nickname of jackass penguin.

Number of gay couples who adopt tripled over last decade

The number of gays and lesbians adopting children has nearly tripled in the last decade despite discriminatory rules in many states, according to an analysis of recent population trends.

“It’s a stratospheric increase. It’s like going from zero to 60,” said Miami attorney Elizabeth Schwartz, who has coordinated more than 100 adoptions for gay and lesbian families in the last year. “I think many really dreamed of doing this but it wasn’t something they ever thought would become a reality.”

About 21,740 same-sex couples had adopted children in 2009, up from 6,477 in 2000, according to the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law. About 32,571 adopted children were living with same-sex couples in 2009, up from 8,310 in 2000. The figures are an analysis of newly released Census Bureau estimates.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson: Modern Family has changed attitudes to gay marriage

Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson says that the public’s acceptance of the show’s gay storylines has been ‘encouraging’, changing the opinions of people previously close-minded towards gay marriage.

When asked about American audiences embracing gay characters on TV more than ever, Tyler Ferguson, who plays Mitchel Pritchett on the show, said: ‘It’s shocking, isn’t it? But also very encouraging. I was prepared for these characters to have a bit of a backlash and it’s sort of been the exact opposite.

‘Conservatives come up to us saying ‘You’ve change my mind about gay marriage’ or ‘I relate to Cameron and Mitchell and I find them very enjoyable and now I’m looking at Bob and Joe down the street and wondering how they’re different’.

A Falling Satellite Catches the Popular Imagination

The odds that a falling satellite will kill you on Friday are probably zero — but maybe not quite.

A dead hulk of a NASA satellite the size of a bus is skimming the top of the atmosphere, and as air molecules bounce off, its orbit is decaying until gravity will finally pull it down as a fiery meteor.

To be specific, 26 large pieces of the Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite, the heaviest about 330 pounds, are expected to survive all the way and hit the surface. The debris will stretch along a 500-mile path.

Gay Archie Comics character getting married

The cultural, ethnic, religious and economic background of its population is one of the most diverse worldwide.London’s gay scene is like a mirror of all that: it is huge, ever-changing and extremely diverse. There are the cafes, bars and shops of a classic gay village in London-Soho and the party temples for shirt-off clubbers in the railway arches of London-Vauxhall. There is the amateur strip contest in an East End pub and the newest R’n'B night in a West End club. The oldest gay pub in South London hosts British queer comedy and drag shows, while Islington in North London has the newest chic & gay-friendly restaurant with international cuisine. Club legends such as the Fridge, Trade, DTPM and Crash influenced the memories of generations. A gay Salsa party? Asian parties? Indie parties? It’s all there!

1- Porchester Spa (Queensway London) Crowd: All sorts, old guys during the day, but sporting teams come here in large groups too, and it’s like winning the lotto, a dozen or so young, gym trained guys at once.

2 – London Liverpool Street National Rail Station (Bishopsgate, London) : Great in evenings to late night. No attendent. Also good during days and weekends. A real mixture of guys.

3 – Hampstead Heath (Hampstead stop on Edgware Brance of Northern Line underground, London): For years Hampstead Heath ( The West Heath) has been the busiest & most popular Gay Cruising ground in London, if not the world. It is located just up the hill from Hampstead Tube Station

Gay Cruising: Las Vegas

Las Vegas has many gay bars and clubs for all types. While bars are scattered throughout the city there are mainly two groupings. The “fruit loop” on Paradise is basically a collection of three strip malls around gay bars, the Gipsy nightclub, a bookstore and Hamburger Mary’s a down the street. The Commercial Center off Sahara is a little more rough around the edges and houses two bathhouses and a collection of bars.

Here are a few cruising locations in Las Vegas:

1 – Golden Nugget 2nd Floor- (129 E Fremont St.,Las Vegas) Go up the stairs and go to you right down the hall to the mens room. Crowd: All type, very discrete.

2 – Vegas GloryHole – (Gipsy Ave, Las Vegas) – Personal residence with private and discrete gloryhole Crowd: Jocks, Businessmen, Young, Mature, White, Black, Latino

3 – Las Vegas Hilton Spa (3000 Paradise Road, Las Vegas) - Gym and spa facility with two whirlpools and a cold plunge, a dry sauna, a wet sauna, and a steam room. Lockers, robes and sandals are given at check-in.

4 – Mandalay Hotel Spa (3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas) Crowd: A lot of good-looking locals and tourists.Facilities: Cruisy spa with plunge pools, sauna and steamroom. The action is in the steamroom.

5 – Venetian Hotel Shopping Arcade – ( 3355 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas) – Large restroom with many stalls and good views.

Apple Dumps Gay Cure iPhone App

Apple removed a virulently anti-gay iPhone app launched by Exodus International that promoted “curing” gay people. The move came after 146,000 people signed a Truth Wins Out petition on Change.org calling on Apple to remove the app from iTunes. “Apple made a wise and responsible decision to dump an offensive app that demonized gay and lesbian people,” said Wayne Besen, Executive Director of Truth Wins Out. “The real winners today are LGBT youth who are safer and less at risk for receiving Exodus’ malice and misinformation.”
