‘True Blood,’ ‘Glee’ Among GLAAD Awards Nominees

Filed under: Celebrities, Movies, Television — bonerguide @ 2:47 pm

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation released the nominations for its 22nd annual GLAAD Media Awards on Thursday (January 20). Television shows such as “Glee” and “True Blood” are in the running to win honors, as are films like “Burlesque” and “Easy A.” The GLAAD awards, which honor “outstanding images of the LGBT community” in the world of media, will be celebrated at three ceremonies — in New York on March 19, in Los Angeles on April 16 and in San Francisco on May 14.

“This year’s nominees represent some of the images and stories at the root of the growing acceptance of our community and support for our equality,” GLAAD president Jarrett Barrios said in a statement. “They also have created a benchmark for inclusion of our community that other media outlets should look to. As GLAAD celebrates 25 years of working with the media, we are proud to recognize this year’s nominees and we challenge the industry to share more stories that reflect the diversity of our community and the challenges that gay and transgender people face.”

Radcliffe liked wearing actresses’ clothes

Filed under: Celebrities, Movies — bonerguide @ 9:32 am

Daniel Radcliffe has fueled gossip he’s secretly gay by confessing he liked wearing co-star Clemence Poesy’s tight-fitting clothes in the latest Harry Potter movie The Deathly Hallows.

The French actress’ character, Fleur Delacour, drinks a potion to become a Potter double in the hit film – and Radcliffe had to change into her clothes for the gender-bending scene.

And he admits he enjoyed it.

Edward D Wood Back From the Dead!

Filed under: Movies — Tags: — bonerguide @ 2:22 pm

People find a sort of pleasure in watching really horrible movies.
That’s not a surprise. As I wrote about last week, the former stars of Mystery Science Theater 3000 are bringing the laughs to a whole new generation of movies and viewers with RIffTrax.com. Their most recent project involves the live riffing of the movie widely regarded as the worst movie ever made. There’s some debate about that, but for being such a bad movie, it’s sure had a successful life. And now Plan 9From Outer Space is getting remade! Somewhere, buried under all
the cardboard, the poor script, the stiff acting, and Ed Wood’s insanity is a pretty decent, even inventive, storyline.

The people at Darkstone Entertainment must see the potential that exists there. Most people can’t even be bothered to pull a coherent story out of that hot mess, but they not only see the potential, they’re going to prove it exists! They’ve remade the campy classic, and their website promises it will be a serious homage to the original. There’s no word on whether or not it’ll be released in the cinema, or if they have distribution at all, but a teaser trailer has been released! You can see it and the full story here.

Star Trek To Return To IMAX Theaters

Back in May, a Star Trek IMAX ticket was pretty much one of the hottest tickets around. The film set records across the nation in terms of sales, but tickets were not easy to find. In fact, the film was so popular in the IMAX that people who did not buy their tickets early—in some cases before the film was even released—were simply out of luck. Part of the problem was the film’s limited run. While Star Trek XI could be found for months in regular theaters, the IMAX version was shuffled out in order to make room for that family classic (note the sarcasm) Night At the Museum II.

I personally find it difficult to believe that theaters made more money off of Night at the Museum II, but such is the nature of the business. In fact, it’s not unlike earlier this year when Coraline 3D only had a limited engagement in order to make room for the Jonas Brothers 3D film.
So if you wanted to see Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, and Karl Urban be amazing hot in glorious IMAX, now you’ll have your chance! I already bought my tickets!

Tatum Channing’s Strip Past

Stud muffin Tatum Channing, who currently stars in this Summer’s blockbuster “G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra,” actually got his start as a male dancer in Florida. At the time, 18 year old Channing was showing off his cobra moves, umm dance skills, in a Chippendale style show where he stripped all the way down to his skimpy thongs. A video has been uncovered showing Channing working the crowd and teasing them by putting his hand down the front of his pants. Although he does not stripped completely nude in the show, he was definitely a crowd favorite. A casting director, for Ricky Martin’s “She Bangs” video, liked what she saw and put Channing in the music video with Martin. This goes to show, when you got it, don’t be afraid to show it because you never know who might be watching. Now let’s see, where are my dollar bills?
